Placing Platform Limited (PPL), a London-based company that provides digital trading solutions to the insurance industry, has released an updated version of its trading console developed in partnership with Microsoft.
PPL is designed to embed the new console within Microsoft Outlook and Teams as a central workspace for managing placements. As the adoption of digital transactions continues to increase across the market, the company is positioning it as a primary channel to deliver future enhancements, including expanded functionality, improved connectivity and additional services.
PPL said the console introduces tools designed to support more effective planning and faster response. The system links directly to the placement platform with integrated management information metrics and priority task lists, designed to help users, teams and managers operate with greater clarity and efficiency.
As part of this release, PPL has incorporated two AI-driven trade assistants to solve operational challenges in insurance workflows. The Placement Creation Assistant links Outlook and Teams with the placement process, automatically extracting key data fields from Word and PDF contract documents. This enables users to create placement records and upload supporting documents without having to manually re-enter them, and PPL estimates that processing time for this step could be reduced by up to 80%.
PPL also launched an MRC document comparison assistant that uses a proprietary AI model trained on MRC documents. The tool allows users to quickly compare documents, providing contextual summaries of key differences as well as a full audit trail and side-by-side visual comparisons. According to PPL, this feature is designed to simplify document review and allow you to focus more on negotiations.
Tanya Duckworth, chief product officer at Placing Platform Limited, said: “This latest release marks another step forward in our efforts to enable digital transactions through the PPL platform. These new features have been developed in close collaboration with our customers and are designed to provide a more seamless, intuitive experience within the Microsoft tools that the market already relies on.
“Importantly, this is just the beginning. We are building a connected ecosystem that will unlock richer market intelligence and launch AI assistants tailored to the needs of our markets. All to help our customers act faster, with greater accuracy and confidence. There’s more to come.”
