CFC, a specialist insurance provider focused on emerging risks and recognized as a market leader in cyber insurance, has appointed Isabel Finn as head of cyber exposure and active risk.
The CFC describes the position as a newly created role designed to enhance the way cyber risks are identified, interpreted and proactively mitigated throughout the insurance lifecycle.
According to the CFC, the appointment comes in response to growing demand from brokers and clients for a more accurate and practical understanding of cyber risk, including a clearer understanding of how risk changes, how it affects underwriting and pricing, and how to address risk at the earliest possible stage.
In this role, Finn will focus on translating the company’s extensive event data, threat intelligence and monitoring capabilities into actionable intelligence to support broker placement discussions and help clients identify where their most significant risks lie. She will work closely with CFC’s underwriting, product, proactive cyber and incident response teams to ensure risk insights are integrated into underwriting decisions, proactive servicing and claims mitigation efforts.
Jason Hart, managing director of proactive and global cybersecurity services at CFC, said: “Cyber risks have become more complex and data rich than ever before. The challenge for the market is to translate this data into something that brokers and clients can use. Isabelle’s role is to close this gap.”
He added: “By enhancing the feedback loop between the events we see, the intelligence we gather and the way risk is assessed and priced, we provide brokers with clearer, more practical insights to support placement discussions and help clients take meaningful action to reduce risk. This is increasingly becoming a requirement of the market and this role is a key step in achieving this.”
Finn has experience in cybersecurity, risk analysis and risk transformation, and has helped insurers, underwriters and security leaders understand how technical cyber risks translate into real-world losses and how to reduce losses through better insights and prioritization.
Prior to joining CFC, Finn was the Cyber Services Manager at Canopius, where he oversaw cyber exposure and service programs designed to support underwriting and risk reduction. CFC also highlighted her previous roles as senior cybersecurity consultant at FTI Consulting and cyber analyst at Darktrace, where she developed expertise in incident response, threat analysis, and the practical application of cyber risk insights in business environments.
The CFC added that the purpose of introducing this role is to deepen engagement with brokers and the wider market to enable more structured discussions around how cyber exposure data is shared, understood and applied in practice, with implications for underwriting decisions and proactive risk management and response.
Finn added: “I’m delighted to be joining CFC. What stands out to me is its responsiveness, intelligence and surveillance capabilities, and the depth of real-world data behind them. This creates a real opportunity to translate what we see during incidents into something more forward-looking, helping clients and underwriters better understand where risks are developing and how to act quickly.”
“Throughout my career, I have focused on translating complex technical risks into something clear, practical and usable, whether supporting underwriting decisions or helping security leaders prioritize areas of focus. I look forward to helping CFC continue to develop its proactive capabilities and bring greater clarity to the risks that matter most to brokers and clients.”
