AXA XL, the property, casualty and professional risks division of French insurance company AXA, has announced a strategic partnership with Samsara, a pioneer in the Connected Operations® platform.
Samsara’s open platform, known for its user-friendly interface and advanced data analytics, will be integrated into AXA XL’s suite of risk solutions in the UK. This will enable customers to make more data-driven decisions and improve fleet safety performance.
The partnership aims to support UK fleet operators with enhanced security, monitoring and risk management tools, reinforcing AXA XL’s commitment to delivering innovative insurance solutions tailored to the changing needs of the transport industry.
AXA XL will leverage Samsara’s platform to provide customers with real-time insights into fleet operations, vehicle health and driver behavior.
This integration is expected to enable more proactive risk mitigation, increase operational efficiency and improve safety standards for fleets of all sizes.
Poonam Jivram, head of motor underwriting at AXA XL and Lloyd’s UK, said: “Partnering with Samsara is fully aligned with our vision to use technology to better understand and manage risk, and we are already seeing its impact in reducing claims frequency and cost by 10-20%.
“With millions of lives affected by road traffic accidents every year and transport accounting for approximately 25-30% of global carbon emissions, we aim to provide customers with powerful tools that not only reduce collisions and downtime, but also lower emissions and support environmentally responsible fleet operations.”
Jack Burton, strategic partners and alliances at Samsara, added: “The insurance landscape is undergoing a tectonic shift, with underwriters placing greater emphasis on verifiable safety data and proactive risk prevention.
“We are delighted to be working with AXA XL to bring our AI-powered technology to customers across the UK. By combining with AXA XL’s underwriting expertise, we enable organizations to move from reactive claims processing to real-time risk mitigation. Together we provide the necessary tools to protect drivers, reduce emissions and build more resilient physical operations.”
