Swiss Re appoints Kumar Head for India’s Global Capability Centre

Global reinsurer Swiss Re has announced the appointment of Puneet Kumar as the Location Head for India’s Global Capability Centre (GCC).

Kumar will continue to lead Central Operations for Asia Pacific while taking on responsibility for his new position as GCCs India.

The executive brings over two decades of experience, alongside extensive operations and leadership expertise, as well as strong business insight, to his new position.

His unique perspective, and experience as a member of the India Leadership Team, equip him to advance Swiss Re’s capabilities and foster stronger synergy across various markets and teams.

Having spent over 10 years with Swiss Re, Kumar has played an active role in shaping the reinsurer’s operations in India.

He initially joined the company in 2016 as Vice President – Strategic Initiatives. He was later appointed Senior Vice President (Director) – Head of Reinsurance Finance Hub, and served as Head Group Finance Bangalore- Senior Vice President after that.

Kumar also worked at HP for four years. During this time he held a number of positions increasing in responsibility, including F&A Transformation Lead, Global Program Lead, and Finance Process Design & Re-engineering.

Commenting on the executive appointment, Swiss Re stated: “As Swiss Re continues to evolve and grow, India remains a strategic hub for diverse talent, innovation, and global collaboration.
