It’s tiiime (to be cosy). Personally, the biggest problem I have when buying Christmas presents is figuring out whether to go practical or frivolous. Often, the perfect thing is something that falls in the middle.
If there’s one thing you can count on with winter, it’s that you’re going to need (if not want) to get into hibernation mode.
Thus, anything cosy is not only practical, but will also inject some joy into their life come the colder months.
Whether you go for the classic sweater, socks, or blanket, or go for something more out there like a self-warming mug or microwaveable plushy, I’ve found the best cosy gifts to shop in 2026.
Warning: you’ll want one of everything.
Best cosy Christmas gifts
I’m a huge fan of everything TBCo creates (I mean, adorable!) but tartan blankets are its bread and butter.
Not only are they ultra soft, meaning they’re the perfect companion for snugging up with of an evening, but they come in a ton of gorgeous warm colours and can even be embroidered for an extra personal touch.
One thing about me is I love a plushie, and I love a hot water bottle, so these microwaveable lavender-filled animals couldn’t be more my cup of tea if they tried.
I have a Miffy-shaped one (are you sensing a theme?) but they come shaped like any animal under the sun. I’m particularly partial to this penguin one, but what about this Snoopy one, or even a fluffy neck wrap?!
I’ve been absolutely thrilled at the Crocs renaissance over the last few years, because I think we can all agree their classic clog shape is the most practical shoe out there.
The one thing they’re not, though, is cosy, and this pun-ilicious fur-lined and suede-coated version of it is. They won’t want to take them off, and they won’t have to, because it’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor wear.
But, if. you think they’ll want their feet to look even more like animal paws, Crocs’ Cozzy Slippers also make a great gift option.
No one wants a cold mug of tea, so this mug is self-heating to keep your cup of coffee, tea or hot choccy warm no matter how long you leave it out.
The pad doubles as a coaster, but a much more exciting one than your mum made you use because it maintains a constant temperature, and can also be used as a wireless charger for your phone when you’re not drinking from the mug.
Someone recently said to me that, once you get an Oodie, there’s nothing that will convince you to want to go out. If that’s the kind of energy you want to generate (or emulate, let’s be honest) through your gifting this season, there’s nothing more to be said.
This one is Miffy themed, but they also come in a whole range of colours and patterns – Pokémon, anyone?
If you’re anything like me, you’ll basically live in a dressing gown from October through to April. Damson Madder has absolutely smashed the striped towelling robe formula, and I love that this one comes with a matching PJ set.
Give them the Christmas gift they deserve with this roll neck jumper from Toast.
This murky chartreuse colour is suitable for any season, and they’ll be grateful for that high neck if they haven’t got a scarf on hand.
We all know how scary the outdoors gets in winter, but these boots will trick your feet into thinking you’ve not strayed from your sofa, even if your eyes say otherwise.
They’re lined with faux fur, and even though they’re technically wellies for the countryside, they’re also chic enough to wear every day.
You can cover yourself in as many blankets as possible but if your home doesn’t feel cosy, it’s hard to get into the hygge mindset.
For the interiors-conscious, or those who have just moved house, consider a present that adds a touch of warmth to their home, like this fluffy sheepskin cushion.
Leg warmers are back in, and thank god, because tights are simply not enough to brave the winter weather.
If they’re partial to a skirt year-round (speaking for myself) these leg warmers will come in a treat. Expect to see them with every outfit.
I have a confession: I wear bed socks pretty much every day in winter, so I for one would be thrilled to receive this gift box.
If they’re not a fluffy sock kinda person, Pairs also has a bamboo set in more muted colours, and tons of other textures and colours to choose from.
The only thing cosier than wearing a big ol’ sweater is knitting yourself one. This knitting kit from Wool and the Gang will keep their hands occupied until the weather warms up, and it’s very Bella Ramsey on The Celebrity Traitors. Look at that little necktie!
Okay, I know I said Crocs were the most practical shoe, but Birkenstock Bostons come in as a close second.
Whether they’re a dog walker, or simply refuse to have their bare feet out at home, these shearling-lined clogs will get plenty of action.
I feel like quilts had a couple of decades of being disregarded there, but now they’re so back. My partner has this one from Oliver Bonas and I can confirm it is all you need to add a little pop of colour to your bedroom.
The velvet details make it feel extra plush, and I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t want to burrow between the sheets when things get chilly.
We all have that one friend who’s obsessed with Christmas (I am that friend) and you can bet your bottom dollar that they want their home to smell like Christmas tree all year round.
This candle not only comes in a gorgeous glass container, but has the scent spot-on, and I will be injecting it into my veins as soon as the clock strikes midnight on November 1.
I’ve been nursing various iterations of these Yoko slippers for nearly a decade now, and it’s going to be hard for me to be convinced to move on from them.
They make your feet look like literal clouds – and who doesn’t want that? – and they’re kind of made for sliding around your house in.
This adorable retro-inspired cardigan is almost too much for me, especially because it comes with a matching bonnet.
It might be an investment, but if you have a fashion-savvy friend who’s just become a mother, I can almost guarantee they’ll squeal with excitement at the sight of it.
Say it with me: anti-sock-as-Christmas-presents propaganda needs to end! Everyone needs them, meaning they make an excellent stocking stuffer, especially when they come in argyle patterns and Uniqlo’s warming Heattech fabric like these ones.
Can we all agree that every winter top needs finger holes? Thanks.
Findra ethically sources all of its merino wool, which just so happens to make the most lightweight and warming base layers, which won’t make you stink by the end of the day.
Thanks to the stripe pattern Findra has gone for, they also look good, which is important because you never know when you’re going to suddenly become overwhelmingly overheated in winter.
Everything from If Only If is designed for anyone who wishes they were from the 19th century, and this sweet water bottle is no exception.
The green gingham is delightfully festive, and the cover is machine washable, so you won’t have to suffer staring at those tea stains for the rest of time.
Cosiness isn’t just a lifestyle choice, sometimes it’s a necessity. If you know your loved one struggles with painful periods, or simply loves to have something warm pressed against their stomach (she’s so me) then this heating pad from Scarlet will be a practical and thoughtful gift.
If you’re not willing to splash out on an entire Brora jumper (fair) then its neck ties and accessories are the next best bet.
This one will add flair to any outfit, and if none of the three block colours are shouting your name, it also comes striped.
Level up their dog walking outfit with this lightweight fleece coat that’s made of 100% recycled polyester.
The pockets are fleece-lined, so they’ll get a nice boost of warmth when things get nippy, and the hood is also adjustable.
Best of all, though, it can be chucked in the washing machine when muddy, so it’s easy to maintain, and the company will also take it back to recycle it when it’s beyond its prime, to make sure it’s contributing to the circular economy.
Fairisle isn’t just for Christmas, folks! If Claudia Winkleman’s fashion on The Traitors hasn’t inspired you to take your knitwear more seriously, then I don’t know what will.
But whether you’re buying them a jumper specifically for the big day itself, these merino wool jumpers from Eribé are the perfect mixture of heritage and cosy, and they come in a whole spectrum of incredible colours and shapes.
A classic Christmas gift, there are so many excellent and deliciously cosy pyjamas out there. But I’m a big fan of this flannel pair from Nudea, which has been keeping me cosy now the temperature has dropped.
There’s not a woman I know who wouldn’t love to get their hands on a pair of these UGGS n their grips – it’s more an issue of whether or not they’ll admit.
Thanks to that mighty high platform, they can be worn outside without fears of soggy feet in winter, and they’re slip on, so they can be popped on whether they’re going to the shops or trying to warm their tootsies at home.
I’ve already waxed lyrical about the beauty of a white cable knit jumper (it’s so Rory Gilmore/ When Harry Met Sally) so I love that Timberland has released this unisex one just in time for cosy season.
It’s perfectly oversized, and goes with pretty much anything, so you can bet it’ll be a safe gifting option for anyone who values staying warm through winter (read: everyone, apart from those freaks who wear flip flops when it’s under 10 degrees).
