MNK International, a specialist Lloyd’s of London insurance brokerage and part of the MNK Group, has appointed Robert Cooper as managing director of aquaculture, livestock and pedigree as the company continues to expand its global agricultural and specialty insurance portfolio.

Based in London, Cooper joins MNK International where he was responsible for developing a diversified international portfolio in aquaculture, livestock and pedigree livestock.

His responsibilities also include wider agriculture and farm complex operations, with opportunities to expand into relevant specialist courses. MNK International said the appointment supports its long-term growth strategy in the professional and high-value segments.

Cooper has more than a decade of experience in global insurance markets. Prior to joining MNK International, he spent almost five years as sector director at Price Forbes, where he developed a substantial portfolio covering the livestock, bloodstock and aquaculture industries. He also previously held roles at Lycetts.

MNK International said Cooper’s appointment is designed to strengthen its capabilities in the specialist agriculture sector, leveraging the MNK Group’s wider resources, including its expertise, integrated managing general agent (MGA) capabilities and entrepreneurial operating model.

Naman Kumar, CEO of MNK International, commented: “I am delighted to announce Robert’s appointment. He has a proven track record of building high-performing portfolios from the ground up, including some of the most challenging poultry and disease-related risks in the market.

“His arrival significantly enhances our capabilities in specialist agriculture – from expanding areas such as aquaculture to the broader livestock, bloodstock and farm complex sectors. This is another important step in our efforts to expand our capabilities, enter new areas and continue to provide best-in-class service to our customers in complex markets.”
