REVO Insurance, an Italian specialty non-life insurer, has launched Transfer Pricing Insurance, an insurance solution designed for multinational companies, including small and medium-sized businesses, that conduct recurring intragroup transactions.
The risk management solution aims to help CFOs, directors, tax managers and auditors manage the uncertainty created by differing interpretations that may arise during transfer pricing audits.
Transfer Pricing Insurance was developed in partnership with TP Insurance Srl, REVO’s exclusive agent for distributing the solution across the European Union.
It is the first policy of its kind in the European market, creating a new category of specialty insurance designed to address a common challenge in international taxation and help companies manage one of their most significant operational risks.
Transfer Pricing Insurance can cover additional tax liabilities arising from transfer pricing assessments, alongside legal defence and professional advisory costs of up to 10% of the insured limit. Coverage limits range from €100,000 to €1 million.
The policy currently covers six categories of recurring transfer pricing transactions: manufacturing, distribution, retail transactions involving goods between related parties, intragroup financing, licensing and intragroup services.
Domenico D’Alfio, Head of Specialty Lines at REVO Insurance, said, “With Transfer Pricing Insurance, we have developed a practical solution to help multinational companies manage one of today’s most complex tax risks. By combining our specialty underwriting expertise with an innovative approach, we are making transfer pricing protection simpler, more accessible and better suited to the operational needs of modern businesses.”
Cristiano Bortolotti, Chief Executive Officer of TP Insurance Srl, added, “Transfer pricing has become an increasingly important governance and tax risk issue for multinational companies. Our goal was to develop the first insurance solution specifically designed for recurring transfer pricing transactions, making this type of protection available beyond the bespoke policies traditionally reserved for large M&A deals. We are proud to partner with REVO Insurance to bring this innovative solution to the European market and give companies a new tool that combines insurance protection with stronger governance and compliance.”
