Japanese holding company NextRock Group has unveiled plans to establish a life insurance and reinsurance platform, NextLife Insurance Group, with operations and entities in Bermuda and Delaware.
NextRock describes itself as a diversified global holding company and investment platform building and managing a portfolio of businesses across multiple industries through specialised operating and investment platforms around the world.
The new life insurance and reinsurance platform, expected to formally launch in 2027 through a joint venture, is part of NextRock’s long-term strategy to build a diversified global investment group.
The group aims to deploy permanent capital across insurance, reinsurance, private credit, asset management, and other specialised investment and operating platforms.
NextLife Insurance Group will reportedly expand its capital base through dedicated special purpose vehicles and other institutional investment structures.
NextRock said it is also evaluating strategic acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships with established insurance companies, reinsurers, credit providers, and other financial institutions as part of the platform’s development strategy.
The company noted it will announce additional details regarding its leadership and investment teams, including the formation of its former sovereign-wealth-fund investment team, as well as the launch of several specialised platforms, in the coming weeks.
NextRock added that it is currently assembling senior executives, investment professionals, insurance specialists, and other industry experts for each platform.
