Ivans, a division of Applied Systems, has released the July 2026 results of the Ivans Index, indicating a year-over-year increase in average premium renewal rates across Commercial Auto, Business Owner’s Policy (BOP), General Liability, Commercial Property, and Umbrella.
Conversely, Workers’ Compensation experienced a decrease in premium renewal rates during the same period.
Month over month, Commercial Auto, BOP, General Liability, Commercial Property and Umbrella experienced a decrease, while Workers’ Compensation experienced an increase.
Commercial Auto’s premium renewal rate change stood at 4.03%, down from 4.58% last month. BOP saw a 5.94% change, decreasing slightly from 5.97% at the end of June.
General Liability fell to 4.99% from last month’s 5.33%, while Commercial Property dipped to 6.16% from 6.24% in June.
Average premium renewal rate change for Umbrella decreased slightly to 7.42%, down from 7.60% in June.
The monthly Ivans Index reports data-driven trends in premium rate renewal change for the most placed commercial insurance lines of business in the insurance industry.
Analysing over 120 million data transactions from more than 38,000 agencies and 700 carriers/MGAs, it measures the year-over-year premium difference for a single consistent policy, reflecting the US insurance market trends.
