Mary Trump on Wednesday called out her uncle Donald Trump over what she described as the president’s latest “SCAM”: his plan to “rig” the midterms.
“This is a five alarm fire, and it is indeed the most important election of our lifetimes,” wrote the president’s niece in a post to her Substack newsletter.
Mary Trump put the focus on Attorney General Todd Blanche — someone she described as “a sycophant the likes of which I have never seen before” — and his openness to the possibility of the Justice Department blocking states from certifying their election results along with his insistence that the DOJ doesn’t intend to “improperly interfere with elections.”
“Of course he won’t rule it out. Blanche is not going to say that the Justice Department won’t interfere with certification because he needs to keep all of his options open,” wrote Trump, who laid out ways in which the DOJ has attempted to interfere in elections across the country.
“His boss is not the American people. His boss is Donald, and he needs to do everything in his power to keep Donald in power so that he can stay in power and abuse that power. The end result is that Americans have fewer and fewer rights every day,” she added.

The president’s niece wrote that there are political and financial stakes for her uncle and “those enriching themselves through their proximity to his power.”
“Donald’s family has made billions through its business and cryptocurrency ventures, while wealthy allies and donors have benefited from an administration that makes decisions based on how much money it can make them and their cronies,” she argued.
“That is why hanging onto power matters so much to him. Losing it means losing access to the machinery that makes this illicit, deeply unfair arrangement possible, along with the grotesque accumulation of massive and obscene wealth that comes with it.”
Trump called out her uncle for insisting that US elections are “riddled with fraud” over the years despite evidence for such claims failing to surface, emphasizing that his “fraudulent” elections talk only comes out when Democrats win.
She flagged a recent Washington Post report on how a number of current and former national security officials have been privately advising states to prepare for the possibility that the administration will interfere in the midterms.
“Clearly, openly, and right in our faces, the Trump regime is making it plain that it will do anything in its power to steal this election from the American people,” she wrote.
Later in the post, she declared that it’s “all hands on deck” and urged Americans to vote by Nov. 3.
“I need you to act like your rights depend on it, because they do.”
