Markel Insurance, the insurance business of Markel Group Inc., has appointed Kristen Dardia as head of U.S. and Bermuda portfolio analysis in New York.
In her new role, Dardia will lead Markel’s advanced analytics, technology pricing and portfolio management capabilities across two geographies.
The appointment is in line with the insurer’s long-term strategic plan to invest in data and analytics to provide timely, actionable insights to underwriting and claims teams.
The role is designed to enhance how the insurance company leverages data across the organization and help teams take action with faster speed and clarity.
Dardia has nearly two decades of experience in actuarial science, analytics and business strategy. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of strategic analytics at Arch Insurance, where she led portfolio-level analytics, risk segmentation and automation initiatives across commercial lines.
Markle said her work has supported profitable growth, strengthened underwriting practices and embedded analytics into day-to-day business decisions.
Markel Chief Actuary Officer Rob Cole commented on the appointment: “Kristen knows how to turn data into insights that teams can use in real time.
“She understands the decisions our underwriters and claims professionals face every day and how analytics can help them better serve their clients.
