Wilfrid Goh to lead VIG Re’s proposed Representative Office in Singapore

VIG Re, the reinsurance arm of Vienna Insurance Group, has appointed Wilfrid Goh as Chief Representative for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region of its proposed Singapore representative office, effective July 1, 2026, subject to approval by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

In his new role, Goh will lead the establishment of VIG Re’s business in Singapore, which will further advance the reinsurer’s long-term strategy of building a local presence in Asia.

He will also act as a liaison between the proposed representative office and the Prague headquarters and report to VIG Re Managing Director Marc Haushofer, who is responsible for the company’s Asia Pacific portfolio.

Mr. Wu has over twenty years of reinsurance experience in Asia and has a strong track record in treaty underwriting and client management.

He has deep expertise in property and works treaties and marine, casualty and structural reinsurance solutions in Southeast Asia and India, which is complemented by his background in claims leadership and public sector solutions.

Most recently, he was Head of Public Sector Solutions for Asia (excluding China) at Swiss Re, where he was responsible for building strategic partnerships with governments and other public sector organizations.
