Where To Stream Obsession, Backrooms, Camp Miasma And More Horror Films This Halloween

So far, 2026 has been another stellar year for horror movies.

The genre had a huge surge this past year, with some exciting new names making a big impact on the big screen.

Obsession, Backrooms and Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma are three of the year’s most talked-about new horrors

As a result, this Halloween you will have plenty of choices to provide both chills and thrills from the comfort of your own home, whether you want gross-out gore, dystopian zombie drama or thought-provoking social commentary.

Here is a quick guide to how you can watch the year’s best horror movies this Halloween weekend…

Send Help

Horror icon Sam Raimi – the man behind Darkman and Drag Me To Hell – gave audiences a hilarious black survival comedy in early 2026.

Send Help pitted the hard-working but overlooked Linda, played by Rachel McAdams, against her smarmy nepo boss Bradley, played by Dylan O’Brien.

When the duo end up abandoned on a desert island, her obsession with the TV reality show Survivor suddenly places her in a position of power.

Send Help is equal parts gross, hilarious and surprisingly empowering – not to mention being a hidden gem that might have passed you by when released earlier in the year.

Send Help is now streaming on Disney+.

Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come

Picking up right after the first film ends, Samara’s character, Grace, finds herself having to take on a whole new satanic, rich family, this time bringing her little sister along for the ride, with the sequel’s all-star cast including Elijah Wood, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kathryn Newton.

This horror follow-up is a blast from start until end – and features one of the best uses of a Bonnie Tyler song since Shrek 2.

Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come is now streaming on Disney+.

Hokum

In the modern folk horror Hokum, Severance’s Adam Scott plays a struggling novelist who stays at a mysterious secluded hotel in Ireland to complete his work.

Haunted by his mother’s death, the film uses Irish mysticism to explore themes of trauma, guilt and, ultimately, self-forgiveness.

The movie was directed by an up-and-coming name in the horror world, Damian McCarthy, who builds up atmosphere and tension to get under audiences’ skin, rather than relying on jump scares.

Hokum is the perfect Halloween watch for anyone seeking something moodier and darker than your typical gore-fest.

Hokum is available to buy on Sky Store and Apple TV now.

Backrooms

Backrooms immediately became one of the buzziest films of the year when it was released in May.

Inspired by Kane Parsons’ popular YouTube series, the director expanded on the imagery of his original work by weaponising the uncanny feeling of entering liminal space.

Made for a minimal budget, Backrooms proved that a solid concept, good acting and originality is all you need to creep out audiences.

Backrooms is now streaming on HBO Max.

Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma

The memorably-titled Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma has only been out for a couple of months, but has already reached cult classic status.

Written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun – known for their previous films We’re All Going To The World’s Fair and I Saw The TV Glow – the meta slasher homage dissected the genre and its past tendency for homophobia and transphobia.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma follows a young filmmaker who is handed the keys to an iconic horror film franchise, as she tries to lure its elusive star back for a reboot.

Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma is available to stream on Mubi.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

Director Nia DaCosta and writer Alex Garland returned to Danny Boyle’s post-apocalyptic plague isle in their direct sequel to last year’s 28 Years Later.

Follow-up The Bone Temple focusses on Jack O’Connell’s evil Jimmy and his cult young cult, as they run riot amid a virus-riddled England.

This franchise keeps subverting the zombie genre by making humans the real “bad guys” and giving a sympathetic backstory to what most films would pin as their lead villains.

It’s also worth a watch purely to see Ralph Fiennes return as Dr. Ian Kelson dancing around to Iron Maiden’s The Number Of The Beast.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is streaming on Now.

Obsession

And of course, it’d be impossible to talk about horror in 2026 without mentioning the phenomenon that is Obsession.

Curry Barker’s tale about a young man who wishes for his crush, Nikki, to fall head over heels with him became one of the year’s most talked-about – and meme-able – films.

The box office hit struck a chord with viewers, and has already sparked plenty of debate on social media in the months since its release.

Not just a crowd-pleaser, Obsession also impressed critics, with Inde Navarette even being strongly touted as an Oscar contender for her role at next year’s ceremony.

Obsession is available to buy or rent on platforms like Sky Store, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and Apple TV.
