Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK), a specialist insurer operating in the London market, has appointed Lauren Storer as underwriter in its property and motor division, reporting to Neil Robertson, head of open market property.
Storer has over 13 years of underwriting experience, specializing in direct and temporary (D&F) property risks underwritten through Lloyd’s, corporate markets and international reinsurance platforms. She joined Lancashire Insurance Company as a senior underwriter.
During this time, she led the development and implementation of the international strategy for D&F’s product portfolio. Her responsibilities also include portfolio planning and forecasting, monitoring performance and maintaining broker and client relationships across multiple geographies.
Earlier in her career, she worked for Munich Re for more than a decade, overseeing U.S. and international property accounts. She has contributed to the advancement of digital underwriting capabilities and developed market knowledge in the United States, Caribbean, Middle East, Australia and Latin America. Additionally, she supports the advancement of junior colleagues and serves as a representative of the underwriting team in internal forums and external meetings.
Her arrival adds further depth to TMK’s Real Estate & Automotive division, which operates in both the open market and licensed sectors in key international markets.
Neil Robertson, head of TMK’s open market real estate division, commented: “Lauren brings a thoughtful and rigorous approach to underwriting that is a perfect fit for the way our team works. We pride ourselves on having strong technical judgment, being accessible to agents and taking the time to understand risks first-hand, and Lauren shares the same mindset.”
“Her international experience will be particularly valuable as we continue to expand our portfolio offerings, and I look forward to the perspective she adds as we continue to grow the book and respond to client needs throughout market cycles.”
