France-based global reinsurer SCOR has announced the appointment of Laurent Sabatié as head of natural catastrophe risk in London.
In his new role, Sabati will play a vital role in further strengthening the company’s capabilities in the critical area of natural disaster risk.
His primary responsibilities include refining SCOR’s risk perspective, improving its modeling capabilities, enhancing governance and model use, and integrating climate and emerging risk perspectives into underwriting and portfolio management decisions.
In addition, Sabati He will also lead SCOR’s team and R&D efforts to help shape the future of risk management at reinsurer Nat Cat.
The executive brings nearly two decades of experience in the re/insurance industry and the London market, as well as deep expertise in catastrophe modeling, risk analysis and capital and risk guidance.
Sabatié has also held senior positions at AIG and ProSight and most recently co-founded Skyline Partners, where he developed the innovative Nat Cat analytics platform and helped build catastrophe risk transfer solutions.
