Pen Underwriting expands specialist Construction & Casualty team

UK-based multi-category, multi-territory managing general agency (MGA) Pen Underwriting has strengthened its specialist construction and casualty division with the appointment of four underwriting professionals across its Birmingham, Liphook and London offices.

The latest recruitment is part of Pen Underwriting’s ongoing investment in its regional underwriting capabilities, enhancing the firm’s expertise in professional casualty and supporting its continued growth in the UK broking market.

Dawn Strong has joined Pen Underwriting as senior casualty underwriter at the firm’s Liphook office in Hampshire. She has over twenty years of experience in commercial insurance, initially building her career in insurance brokerage before moving into underwriting. Strong joins Pen Underwriting from Zurich Insurance, where she served as a transactional underwriter for the past three years.

Pen Underwriting has also appointed Ravi Banger as Birmingham casualty underwriter. Banger has more than 10 years of experience specializing in liability underwriting, developing expertise in complex risks through underwriting, claims and customer service positions. He joins Pen Underwriting from NFU Mutual as a corporate liability underwriter and previously worked at Zurich Insurance, LV, Wesleyan and Direct Line Group.

The firm’s London team has also grown with the arrival of Ollie Jochimsen as Casualty Underwriter. Jochimsen joins Pen Underwriting from Lloyd’s broker Bridge Specialty International, bringing extensive experience in casualty risk and an understanding of the needs of specialist market brokers and their clients. Josh Murphy also joins Pen Underwriting’s construction and casualty team in London as an associate underwriter.
