Allstate estimates $682m in cat losses for July

The Allstate Corporation, a US personal property and casualty insurer, has estimated catastrophe losses of $682 million, or $539 million after tax, for July 2026.

The catastrophe loss estimate includes 23 events, with approximately 75% of the losses related to two wind and hail events.

Allstate’s July estimate is an increase from June’s figure of $563 million, or $445 million after tax.

Last month, Allstate also estimated total catastrophe losses for the second quarter of 2026 at $1.72 billion, or $1.36 billion after tax.

Year over year, estimated catastrophe losses for July 2025 were significantly lower at $184 million, or $145 million after tax, stemming from 19 wind and hail events.

Allstate also recently disclosed its results for the second quarter of 2026, with total revenues rising 11.8% year over year to $18.6 billion, while net income applicable to common shareholders increased 55.9% to $3.2 billion.
