Global management consultancy Oliver Wyman has appointed Andrew Bainbridge as general counsel and chief compliance officer.
Bainbridge takes on the new role from Paula McGlarry, who most recently served as global chief operating officer and chief of staff.
Bainbridge will report jointly to Kate Brennan, Marsh’s general counsel, and Ted Moynihan, president and CEO of Oliver Wyman and Marsh Management Consulting.
Since joining the company in 2011, he has held several senior leadership positions in legal, compliance and public affairs organizations.
Most recently, Bainbridge served as deputy general counsel at Oliver Wyman and Marsh Management Consulting, where he oversaw legal and compliance matters in Europe, India, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining Marsh, he worked as an M&A lawyer at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner in London and held in-house legal roles in venture capital and investment banking.
Moynihan commented on the appointment: “Throughout his time at Oliver Wyman, Andrew has been a valuable partner to our leadership team, bringing deep expertise in handling complex legal, compliance and risk matters.
“From supporting strategic acquisitions and growth initiatives to guiding some of our most high-profile client engagements, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional judgment and integrity. His leadership skills, business insights and commitment to our employees and clients make him a perfect fit for this role.”
“Andrew is a proven leader who has demonstrated the technical legal expertise, business acumen and sound judgment necessary to address complex global challenges,” said Brennan. “I am confident he will excel in this role and look forward to working more closely with him.”
