Allianz Commercial, the corporate insurance division of Allianz Group, has appointed Stephen Morton as its new Global Head of Captive Fronting and Captive Solutions, effective March 1, 2027, succeeding Brian McNamara, who will retire at the end of September.
In his new position, Morton will be reporting directly to Lara Martiner, Global Head of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) at Allianz Commercial.
Based in Paris, the executive will drive the continued growth of Allianz Commercial’s well-established global captive solutions portfolio and services which have strongly grown over the past 15 years in response to rising demand for multinational insurance and captive products.
These services leverage Allianz Group’s extensive international licensing network, ranging from classic captive fronting for mono-line coverage to more sophisticated multi-year/multi-line solutions, integrating cross-border products and service capabilities from other Allianz business units.
Lara Martiner, Global Head of ART at Allianz Commercial, commented: “Our captive solutions team has gone from strength to strength in recent years, just as the captive market has grown in parallel, now totalling $60 billion in premiums across around 6,000 captives globally.
“I am delighted to welcome Stephen to our team as we continue to expand our services for clients and brokers across our network. I also want to thank Brian McNamara for his outstanding steering of this important part of our business over the last seven years, building up our position in the market to where we are now. We wish him well with his retirement.”
