Now that the days are growing increasingly shorter, it can be deliciously tempting to become a hermit and not go outside.
But this year, I’ve challenged myself to get out of the house more after 4pm. I know, daring.
What with London being one of the busiest places on earth, the bustle of tourists can sometimes bring out my inner Grinch, too.
But if I’m being honest with myself, I often feel my best when I do go out and make the most of seeing the sights London has to offer – it does festive like nowhere else.
That’s why, this week, I’m excited that there is 20% off The Original Bus Tour of London with the code ‘FESTIVELONDON’.
While usually I head home after work, I’ve been looking for something to do that doesn’t involve going out for dinner or to the pub (another endlessly enticing temptation of living in the UK).
Instead, one night this week I’m going to jump on an open-top bus tour and take a 90-minute ride through the city to see all of its sights illuminated against the night sky.
Starting at Coventry Street, the tour passes through some of London’s most iconic areas, including past the London Eye, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, and Tower Bridge.
As a London native, I’m excited about the opportunity to explore my city from a different perspective.
But if you’re visiting London with family or friends, this could be the perfect opportunity to see all of the historic city’s most beloved landmarks in one go – and all while sitting down!
The Christmas lights are officially up in the city already, so I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunity to snap some pictures of those along the way.
Plus, multilingual audio commentary is available in over 75 languages, so you can soak up all of the facts about London’s history while you take in the sights.
The bus tours will run every day from now until 13 November, so you don’t have long to take advantage of the offer.
If you’re willing to put your child on your lap for the full 90 minutes, they’ll be able to travel free, which means going with a family of four will cost you just £43.
Not to mention you’ll get a hop-on hop-off Thames River Cruise included with your ticket, so can keep the good vibes going.
