Risk advisory, insurance brokerage and reinsurance services company Marsh has announced the appointment of Ana Gonzalez Felgueroso as head of European nuclear growth for its Marsh Risk business.
In the appointment, which is effective immediately, Felgueroso will be based in Madrid and report to David Lindqvist, head of energy and power at Marsh Risk Specialty Europe.
The company said the newly created role is to strengthen support for the European nuclear energy industry. As part of his role, Felgueroso will lead Marsh’s nuclear growth initiatives in the region, serve as a key point of contact for clients and help coordinate advisory and risk management services across markets.
Marsh said she will work with colleagues across the international network to assist organizations in designing and arranging complex nuclear insurance programs, including nuclear third-party liability insurance, while facilitating access to global insurance and reinsurance capabilities through the firm’s placement capabilities.
Felgueroso joins the company with extensive experience in nuclear insurance and risk management and a detailed understanding of the regulatory and commercial factors affecting the European market.
Most recently, she managed multinational insurance and reinsurance portfolios at ARN (Aseguradores de Riesgos Nucleares), where she was responsible for the management of the Spanish Nuclear Risk Underwriting Agreement (ESPANUCLEAR). Earlier in her career, she worked at CESCE, the Spanish Commercial Office in Amman and BBVA, where she gained experience in the areas of risk assessment, trade support and corporate finance.
Lindqvist commented: “As Europe accelerates investment in safe, low-carbon electricity, nuclear stakeholders face heightened, interconnected risks, from regulatory changes and supply chain constraints to construction complexities and evolving liability considerations. Ana’s appointment reinforces our commitment to helping clients build resilient risk strategies and secure the protection and risk capital needed to progress projects with confidence.”
Marsh said the appointment underlines the company’s continued investment in expertise to support clients involved in nuclear projects and infrastructure development across Europe.
Felgueroso added: “Nuclear energy is increasingly important to Europe’s long-term energy resilience and decarbonization goals, but the risk landscape is both specialized and rapidly changing. I look forward to working with clients across Europe, as well as global organizations, combining Marsh’s consulting expertise, placement capabilities and global market relationships to help them enhance preparedness, optimize risk transfer and support investments across the nuclear value chain.”
