USQRisk, the managing underwriter of Ryan Alternative Risk, a division of Ryan Specialty, has announced the promotion of Chris Giuffre to President of USQRisk, effective immediately.
The company noted that following the change, Michael Zipper will step down as president but will continue to serve as co-CEO of USQRisk, alongside Parag Abvishi, co-CEO and chief underwriting officer.
Giuffre co-founded the company in 2020, drawing on experience in the United States and the United Kingdom to build insurtech-focused projects and develop insurance and specialty financial solutions.
Following USQRisk’s acquisition by Ryan Specialty in May 2025, USQRisk said Mr. Giuffre served as chief strategy officer, responsible for supporting the integration of USQRisk’s business into the broader Ryan Specialty group.
In his new role, Giuffre will continue to oversee its front-end and capital solutions businesses, leveraging insurance structures as an alternative to traditional financial products to help improve capital efficiency for clients.
Zipper commented, “Chris’ proven leadership skills and market presence make him an ideal choice for the president role as we expand our executive leadership team to meet growing demand for structured insurance and reinsurance, capital solutions and response risks. Chris’ experience developing unique programs and converged products aligns with our growth strategy and solidifies our position as a leading alternative risk transfer underwriter.”
Giuffre added, “I am honored to assume the expanded role of President of USQRisk. Since our inception, we have built the business on a foundation of strong technical and operational expertise while maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit as we pursue new opportunities. I look forward to working with our leadership team to build on this foundation, uphold the high standards that define our business, and continue to expand our alternative risk transfer capabilities.”
