Insurance broker and risk advisor Gallagher has appointed Laura Repko to the newly created role of senior director of capital solutions, responsible for its global multi-discipline private equity and M&A practice (PEMA).
The appointment highlights the broker’s commitment to serving lenders and borrowers in complex transactional situations, as well as continued investment in the wider M&A and capital advisory sectors.
In her new role, Repko will be based in London and focus on delivering solutions across a range of lending scenarios to support the flow of funds, including credit enhancement, compliance with banking and accounting regulations, working capital financing and capital event situations.
In addition, she will work closely with Gallagher’s M&A transaction risk team and real estate advisory team to ensure clients benefit from a fully integrated approach to their financial and strategic needs across a wide range of transactions.
Repko has over 15 years of experience in corporate finance, with expertise in originating, structuring and executing financial transactions across Europe and an in-depth understanding of the transaction lifecycle for both lenders and borrowers.
Most recently, she was Investment Director, Direct Lending at HSBC and worked extensively with private equity firms during her tenure at Deutsche Bank, Beechbrook Capital and Permira Credit.
Steve Jones, CEO of Gallagher PEMA Solution UK, commented: “Laura’s appointment is a significant step forward for our PEMA division. Her expertise in delivering innovative capital solutions will enhance our ability to support clients in bridging the expectations gap between lenders and borrowers, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to all stakeholders in any transaction.”
“By focusing on understanding the financial dynamics driving transactions and tailoring insurance-backed solutions to meet the unique needs of lenders and borrowers, Laura will enable clients to optimize their capital structures and reduce any friction points.”
Repko added: “It’s an exciting time to join Gallagher, which is focused on building true breadth and depth of advisory and brokerage expertise to the benefit of lenders and borrowers. Private capital continues to be a huge driver of transformative growth globally, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues to deliver maximum transaction value for clients every time, across a variety of lending scenarios.”
