France-based global reinsurer SCOR has revealed that Marie Biggas has been appointed interim deputy chief executive officer (CEO) of SCOR Business Solutions and will take up the full role on January 1, 2027.
Biggas currently serves as global chief underwriting officer (CUO) for SCOR Business Solutions and Cedant Fac.
Once she transitions into the role permanently, Claire McDonald will assume a non-executive role within SCOR UK/SCOR Governing Body Limited.
Biggas joined SCOR in 2022 as an active underwriter on SCOR UK CUO and SCOR Syndicate before assuming his latest role in April 2024.
Prior to that, she worked for Arch Insurance Group for more than eight years as vice president, deputy active underwriter, director of terrorism, aviation warfare and space. Biggas joins Arch as a senior underwriter responsible for managing and growing the terrorism portfolio.
In the past, she worked as a senior terrorism underwriter at Chubb, an associate underwriter at Chaucer Syndicates and an underwriting associate at Amlin plc.
Biggas commented, “Having assumed this role, I am very aware of the responsibilities that come with it, but also aware of the opportunity before us. What gives me confidence is the strength of this organization and most importantly the people within it. I would like to personally thank Claire for her leadership, support and the strong foundation she has built.”
McDonald added: “As we complete Vision 2026 and enter a new strategic cycle, the time seems right to make this change. I look forward to continuing to contribute to SCOR’s success and supporting the leadership transition of SCOR Business Solutions.”
Jean Paul Conoscente, CEO of SCOR P&C, commented: “Claire’s leadership has been instrumental in guiding the SCOR Business Solutions team over the past two years and we are grateful for the expertise, insight and energy she brings to the business. We are delighted that she will remain with the SCOR team.
“I would also like to congratulate Marie and welcome her to this new role. I am eager to see SCOR Business Solutions begin its next chapter under Marie’s leadership.”
