Independent specialist re/insurance broker Miller has appointed Kim Plant as head of North America real estate, where he will lead the firm’s North American real estate business from its London and Bermuda offices.
Plant joins Miller from Amwins, where he served as director of the company’s North American real estate division since 2020, and reportedly has extensive relationships in the North American real estate market in the United States and Canada.
He started his insurance career with the Lockton Property team in 2015 after serving 13 years in the British Army Grenadier Guards.
At Miller, Plant will work closely with Matthew Keeping, Miller managing director and head of property and casualty, to continue building long-term client relationships in the United States and Canada.
Plant commented, “We are pleased to welcome Kim on board at this important time in building our North American real estate product line.
“We have experienced exponential growth in our U.S. and Canada business over the past three years and see significant opportunities to continue to gain market share through our deep expertise, differentiated culture of service excellence and clear focus on a compelling wholesale proposition.
“With deep market expertise and long-standing relationships, Kim is well-positioned to lead our real estate proposition in the region as we continue to respond to growing demand for our services.”
Plant added, “I am delighted to be joining Miller at this exciting time in the growth of its North American real estate business. Miller has built a reputation for excellence through its unique model of scale-based expertise and a genuine commitment to client service, and I look forward to working with Matt and the team to continue to build on this strong foundation.”
“In a market characterized by downward pressure on interest rates and increased retail competition from domestic players, Miller is well-positioned to capture market share and continue to grow its exceptionally strong real estate pipeline.”
