Gallagher Re appoints Minesh Jani as CEO of India

Global reinsurance brokerage and advisory firm Gallagher Re has announced the appointment of Minesh Jani as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), India.

A Gallagher Re spokesperson said: “Minesh has built strong relationships with customers, markets and regulators in the region, resulting in continued growth and long-term partnerships. His forward-looking approach and deep understanding of the Indian market will be key as we continue to expand our presence in the region.”

Jani joins Gallagher Re from the DIFC branch of Howden Insurance Brokers Limited, most recently as Managing Director.

Prior to this, he served as CEO of India MENA and Indian Subcontinent. Ed was an independent Lloyd’s re/insurance broker acquired by the Ardonagh Group, with Price Forbes absorbing its specialist and global wholesale broking divisions.

The executive also served as ARPL’s reinsurance president, leading the India and Indian subcontinent markets. During this time, he was responsible for portfolio structure and risk allocation in global markets.

Jani also worked at WTW in Mumbai for almost five years, BMS India for two years and ICICI Lombard for a similar period. Prior to this, he worked for nearly six years at JB BODA Group as Africa Reinsurance Manager.
