Brown & Brown selects Anthropic, McKinsey and Accenture to support AI transformation

Brown & Brown, Inc. announced that it is making artificial intelligence (AI) a foundational enterprise capability and has selected Anthropic, McKinsey & Company, and Accenture as partners to help realign the business and responsibly scale AI across the organization.

The program is designed to responsibly leverage artificial intelligence to transform critical business processes to accelerate growth, enhance customer experience, increase team productivity and enhance business performance.

This operating model enables local teams to meet business needs while creating an operating platform that supports company-wide adoption.

To help achieve this goal, Brown & Brown has engaged Anthropic, McKinsey & Company, and Accenture as partners to combine expertise in cutting-edge AI, business transformation, and governance to establish the guardrails, operational discipline, and execution model needed to responsibly scale AI across the enterprise.

Ultimately, Brown & Brown aims to deploy Anthropic’s Claude across its 23,000 team members and integrate AI into end-to-end workflows that support customer service, operations, technology and enterprise functions.

Additionally, Brown & Brown is establishing a Value Management Office (VMO) to support rigorous execution and ongoing outcomes-based evaluation of its AI initiatives. The office will monitor adoption, measure business impact and return on investment, and maintain control as AI capabilities expand across the enterprise.

As part of a broader technology transformation, Brown & Brown will also deploy Claude Code across its entire software engineering organization to reimagine and implement an AI-enabled software development lifecycle that is expected to increase developer productivity, enhance software quality, and accelerate delivery.

“Our teammates are Brown & Brown’s biggest differentiator, and we view AI as an enabler of their experience, expertise and judgment, not a replacement,” said Powell Brown, president and CEO of Brown & Brown.

Jim Bramblet, senior managing director responsible for Accenture’s U.S. Insurance practice, added: “Brown & Brown is taking a forward-thinking approach to leveraging AI to help drive growth, increase efficiency and create value across the business. By combining Anthropic’s advanced AI capabilities with Accenture’s experience in designing technology architectures, developing implementation roadmaps and supporting business transformation, this collaboration is focused on accelerating innovation, modernizing the way we work and converting AI investments into measurable business results.”

Ari Libarikian, global co-leader of McKinsey’s insurance practice, commented: “We are excited to partner with Brown & Brown to start a new chapter in the AI transformation. Brown & Brown has a clear commitment to using AI to create meaningful value for customers, team members and shareholders. We look forward to helping the company redesign the way it works and realize the full potential of AI at enterprise scale.”

“Brown & Brown’s engineers used Claude Code to complete developments that once took days in hours, significantly reducing troubleshooting time and finding vulnerabilities that other tools missed, and the company is now scaling Claude from a handful of pilot teams to the entire enterprise,” said Michael Hartman, head of Americas Enterprise at Anthropic. “This is what being an AI-first enterprise looks like—first proving value, then providing every team member with the same capabilities.”
