BMS Group, an independent global insurance and reinsurance brokerage, has launched a new cross-team division focused on brokering and servicing syndicates in the Lloyd’s market, led by Richard Wynn as managing director, licensing agencies and syndicates.

The newly formed unit will leverage BMS’s operational expertise in licensing structures and customized portfolio configurations.

The driver for this initiative is to maximize value for operator customers and directly enhance the BMS by integrating precise expertise and resources.

The team will work across the business to enhance existing portfolios of carrier customers and develop all future joint facilities across the company, working in partnership with Freddie Porritt and Emily Davies from BMS Re’s treaty and interim division.

This dedicated team will act as a unified gateway for the alliance’s business, ensuring consistent operational simplicity and analytical depth.

Richard Dudley, Group Chief Brokerage Officer at BMS Group, commented: “Richard is ideally suited to lead our alliance activity. He combines a deep technical understanding of the licensing structure with a clear strategic vision.

“This repositioned approach, supported by a growing multi-disciplinary team, underlines our commitment to the success of the London market and ensures we remain a trusted, independent partner to operators.”

Wynn added: “Syndicates deliver a win-win-win in our markets – they improve capital allocation, unlock greater, more consistent capacity and align all stakeholders around underwriting quality.

“Our goal with this specialized unit is to help operators leverage these advantages through customized, efficient alliance solutions and enable them to successfully navigate the next stage of the cycle.”
