Bermuda International Long-Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR), the association representing long-term insurance companies and reinsurers in Bermuda, has announced the appointment of Todd Coslow as Director of Policy and Regulation.
In his new role, Koslow will lead BILTIR’s involvement in regulatory and legislative matters affecting the long-term re/insurance industry in Bermuda.
He will work closely with member companies, regulators and key stakeholders to support the association’s policy engagement, strengthen industry collaboration and advance its advocacy priorities.
Koslow will also support BILTIR’s member committees and working groups, provide analysis and updates on emerging policy developments, and help facilitate dialogue between member companies and regulators.
He has more than two decades of experience in insurance, financial services regulation, risk management and government affairs.
Most recently, he served as founder and management consultant at Cosmo Creek Enterprises LLC, advising banking, insurance and fintech clients on governance, operational resilience and regulatory risk.
Prior to that, he spent 13 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where he led regulatory and policy initiatives focused on cybersecurity, third-party services and compliance.
Koslow also held a number of senior leadership roles at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), including chair of the Operational Resilience Working Group and co-lead of the FinTech Forum. In these roles, he worked with regulators and policymakers in international jurisdictions on regulatory frameworks and industry risk management practices.
Suzanne Williams, CEO of BILTIR, said: “As regulatory and policy discussions continue to evolve, our Director of Policy and Regulation ensures that BILTIR continues to be actively engaged on issues affecting the industry in the long term.
“Todd’s experience in solving complex global regulatory issues, combined with his background working with regulators and the (re)insurance industry, will further enhance our ability to represent our members.”
Koslow commented: “Bermuda plays an important role in the global industry and thoughtful policy engagement on behalf of our members and stakeholders is vital to the continued development of the jurisdiction.
“BILTIR safeguards the interests of the Bermuda long-term (re)insurance market and I am delighted to be able to contribute to the team’s work.”
