AXA XL, the property, casualty and professional risks unit of French insurance company AXA, has appointed Allen Kwan as head of brokerage management for its U.S. brokerage management team.
He will be based in New York and report to Liz Rychling, head of Americas large commercial and mid-market broker relations at AXA XL.
In his new role, Kwan will be responsible for supporting Aon and NFP brokers. He will also focus on strengthening strategic relationships, driving growth initiatives and enhancing connectivity between AXA XL’s insurance products and risk management solutions.
Most recently, Kwan led US client and distribution management for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. In this role, he was responsible for broker strategy and development, strategic client engagements, and underwriting, international programs and alternative risk transfer initiatives.
He joined Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in 2012 as a property underwriter and held positions of increasing responsibility in regional sales and account and distribution management.
In the past, Kwan also held operational and underwriting roles at Zurich Insurance and Beazley Insurance Group, developing expertise in multinational property projects, networks and finance.
Rychling commented on the appointment: “Alan brings underwriting expertise, distribution leadership and a proven track record of improving the broker and client experience.
“He will be a key link between our Aon and NFP broker partners and AXA XL’s product leadership, ensuring brokers have direct access to the expertise and innovative solutions they need to help clients manage risk and grow.
“He will work closely with regional and country broker leadership and product leaders to align priorities, deliver tailored solutions and advance AXA XL’s commitment to delivering superior value to clients through broker partners.”
