France-based multinational insurance and asset management group AXA has announced plans to roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot to employees globally, calling the move the latest phase of its workplace artificial intelligence strategy and a major development in its broader plan to deploy artificial intelligence across the organization.
The company said the rollout builds on Secure GPT, an internal AI platform launched three years ago to provide employees and business applications with secure access to large language models (LLMs). According to AXA, Microsoft 365 Copilot will now be rolled out in phases across its global workforce.
The platform will bring AI-driven help directly into the Microsoft applications employees already use, including Teams, Outlook and Word. The company hopes the technology will help employees complete their daily tasks more efficiently, increase daily productivity, and make collaboration among international teams easier.
AXA said the deployment reflects its continued investment in innovation within the insurance industry, while providing employees with digital tools designed to improve customer outcomes and the overall workplace experience. The addition of Microsoft 365 Copilot is expected to help employees provide more personalized services in a secure environment while responding more effectively to the changing needs of personal and business customers.
The deployment will also see further investment in employee training as part of its wider artificial intelligence strategy. The company plans to expand its AI upskilling program to help employees develop practical knowledge of AI while understanding its responsible and ethical use. AXA said the program will continue to emphasize the importance of human oversight when making critical decisions.
Matthieu Caillat, Group Chief Technology and Artificial Intelligence Officer and CEO of AXA Group Operations, commented: “AI represents a significant opportunity to empower our people, strengthen our innovation leadership and better serve our customers. Our aim is to combine technological excellence with a responsible, human-centred approach to ensure that AI creates lasting value for our employees, customers and society.”
Karima Silvent, Deputy Secretary General for HR, Compliance, Audit, AXA EssentiALL and GIE AXA, added: “Following the successful deployment of Secure GPT, these new solutions mark another important milestone in our journey towards an AI workplace.
“Our goal is not only to provide our employees with the best AI capabilities, but also to enable every employee to confidently integrate AI into their daily work. Thanks to constructive dialogue with employee representatives about the use of AI and employee feedback, we are strengthening our collective ability to innovate to better serve our customers.”
