Atrium appoints Naveed Haque as Head of Casualty Reinsurance

Atrium, the specialist insurer owned by Lloyd’s, has announced the appointment of Naveed Haque as head of casualty reinsurance.

During his tenure at Atrium, he will be responsible for building and developing the company’s casualty reinsurance portfolio, with a focus on sustainable growth and disciplined underwriting performance across Atrium’s broader casualty insurance products.

Haque brings 22 years of industry experience to Atrium. He joins the company from RenaissanceRe’s Casualty Treaties business unit for nearly ten years.

His earlier career included roles at Liberty Specialty Markets, Atrium and Aspen, giving him an extensive background in the London market and international reinsurance industry, which Atrium highlights is particularly relevant to his new leadership role.

Peter Laidlaw, active underwriter at Atrium Syndicate 609, commented: “I am pleased to welcome Naveed back to Atrium. Naveed is a well-respected leader with a deep understanding of the casualty reinsurance market. His extensive experience managing large treaty portfolios and long-term relationships with clients and brokers across the industry make him well-positioned to lead and grow our casualty treaty business.”

Haque added: “I am delighted to join Atrium at this critical time in its history. I look forward to working closely with the Casualty team to leverage our underwriting talent, product range, relationships and global reach to drive innovative and disciplined underwriting strategies.”
