When the actual song was released, she revealed it wasn’t just the song that paid homage to Nicole, though, also debuting a music video that celebrated some of the Oscar winner’s most iconic movie moments.
From loud tributes to the more subtle nods, here’s our quick guide to all of the references in Adéla’s Nicole Kidman video…
Eyes Wide Shut
After a rapid-fire montage, the Nicole Kidman video really kicks off with the image of Adéla being shot from behind, taking off her dress in a messy bedroom to reveal purple thong lingerie.
This alludes to the opening scene of Eyes Wide Shut, in which Nicole’s character does the exact same, while it’s also been suggested that the shots of Adéla dancing in the same underwear reference the actor’s work in the cult film To Die For.
Babygirl
Not only is Babygirl name-checked in the lyrics of Nicole Kidman, it’s also the Nicole film that’s referenced the most in the song’s accompanying video.
Over the course of the three-minute clip, Adéla can be seen lapping up milk from a dish, standing in a corner facing a wall and crawling along the floor of a hotel room, recreating Nicole’s work in the 2024 erotic thriller.
Adéla turns things on their head somewhat, though, crawling towards another rendering of herself rather than a male figure.
Birth
One of the films we were least expecting to see a reference to in a new pop girlie’s music video was Jonathan Glazer’s Birth, one of the most divisive offerings in Nicole’s filmography.
Adéla puts her spin on Birth in the part of the Nicole Kidman video where she cuts her own hair and gets in the bath, before recreating another of the film’s most memorable scenes when she’s seen entering a room with a birthday cake.
Dogville
While Adéla’s video doesn’t actually reference the film Dogville itself, it does appear to nod to one of Nicole’s most famous interview moments, when she sparked up a cigarette during a Q&A about the disturbing movie in Cannes.

Moulin Rouge!
Of course, how could you do a glamorous celebration of Nicole Kidman’s work without mentioning Moulin Rouge!?
As well as lyrical references to the hit musical, Adéla ends the video by making a visual nod to Nicole’s character, Satine, when she’s seen performing her original song while sitting on a swing.
The meme-worthy AMC advert
Naturally, towards the end, we also get Adéla recreating Nicole’s now-iconic cinema advert for the US chain AMC.
Heartbreak really does feel good in a place like this, doesn’t it?
Is there anything else?
Well, at one point, Adéla is seen picking up a Hollywood Walk Of Fame-esque keyring emblazoned with Nicole Kidman’s name.
Nicole has been part of the iconic walkway for more than 20 years, being inducted back in 2003, in the lead-up to her Oscar win for The Hours.
“I’ve never been so excited to have people walk all over me for the rest of my life,” she was quoted as saying at the time.

The Nicole Kidman video marks the first collaboration between Adéla and Hannah Lux Davis, whose past work includes Ariana Grande’s Thank U Next and Little Mix’s Power.
We just thought this was a fun detail to mention, as Nicole is such a champion of female directors, famously pledging to work with one female-led project every 18 months back in 2017 – which she’s managed to stick to more than a decade later.
Some of Nicole’s most recent offerings with women behind the camera have included the TV series Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Scarpetta, the new Practical Magic sequel, the psychological thriller Holland the aforementioned Babygirl.
