We’re another step closer to one of the most-anticipated Netflix projects of the year.
On Wednesday afternoon, the streaming giant unveiled the first full trailer for its upcoming adaptation of Pride And Prejudice, starring The Crown’s Emma Corrin and man of the moment Jack Lowden in the iconic roles of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy.
Joining them in the new miniseries, adapted for the screen by Everything I Know About Love writer Dolly Alderton, will be Oscar winner Olivia Colman and Rufus Sewell, who has previously appeared in Netflix projects like The Diplomat and the biographical drama Scoop, in which he played Prince Andrew.

Dolly Alderton – who serves as the series’ executive producer, as well as its writer – enthused last year: “Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it.
“Jane Austen’s Pride And Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy – it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life.”
She added: “With Euros Lyn directing our stellar cast, I am so excited to reintroduce these hilarious and complicated characters to those who count Pride And Prejudice as their favourite book, and those who are yet to meet their Lizzie and Mr Darcy.”
The sprawling cast of Pride And Prejudice is made of many familiar faces, including Heartstopper’s Rhea Norwood, Industry’s Freya Mavor, Wake Up Dead Man star Daryl McCormack, comedian Jamie Demetriou and House Of Guinness actor Louis Partridge.
It’s been a big year for Jane Austen fans so far, thanks to projects like the BBC’s Pride And Prejudice reimagining The Other Bennet Sister, Audible’s star-studded audiobook version of the classic story and the recent film adaptation of Sense And Sensibility.
All six episodes of Pride And Prejudice will arrive on Netflix on Thursday 3 December.
