Zurich Austria establishes branch in Poland

Zurich Insurance already operates in the Polish commercial insurance market with a new office in Warsaw. The business will be managed by Zurich Austria and led by Kurt Möller, head of commercial insurance for Austria and Central and Eastern Europe and a member of the Zurich Austria board of directors.

Möller commented: “We are delighted to be able to bring Zurich’s industry-leading expertise and innovative solutions to customers in Central and Eastern Europe, starting with Poland.

“Our aim is to support local businesses by delivering smart, reliable risk management, helping them seize new opportunities and grow with confidence. We look forward to working together to help businesses thrive in an ever-changing world.”

Zurich explained that it will work closely with Polish insurance brokers and operate as an insurance company, co-insurer and reinsurer.

Luciano Cirinà, CEO of Zurich Insurance International Commercial Insurance, added that the company’s entry into the Polish commercial insurance business marks another strategic milestone.

Cirinà continues: “Poland, as one of the largest economies in Europe, has a booming corporate sector and offers excellent opportunities. With our international expertise and many years of experience, we are creating real added value for Polish companies.”

Rafał Tokarz, who has more than 30 years of industry experience, has been appointed head of the Polish branch in Zurich, Austria.

Tokarz said: “I am delighted that Zurich has taken the bold step of entering the Polish market. Zurich is a carrier with real commercial insurance expertise and a proven track record of delivering customized plan solutions globally.

“Together with our highly qualified and experienced team, including underwriters, risk engineers and claims handlers, we will bring this proficiency and capability to market.
