Willis, a WTW business, has promoted Gerard Owens to Head of Captive and Insurance Management Solutions, Ireland, effective 1 November 2026.
In his new role, Owens succeeds Trevor Madden, who will lead Willis’ Captive and Insurance Management Solutions business in Singapore.
Owens will report to Elizabeth Carbonaro, Managing Director, Captive and Insurance Management Solutions, Europe & GB.
He has over 25 years of industry experience, with extensive expertise in captive management, financial and regulatory reporting, risk management, compliance, and business development.
During his career, Owens has led teams responsible for managing and overseeing captive insurers and reinsurers operating in Ireland. He has worked closely with organisations to establish, expand, and optimise captive insurance programmes, having held several senior positions at Willis since 2017.
Additionally, he sits on the Board of Willis’ Irish captive practice, and holds other regulated directorship positions.
