Consisting of just six episodes, the chances are you might have already binged your way through the lot, and naturally you may now be wondering if the story could continue in a second season…

Will there be a Below season 2 on Netflix?

We’re sorry to report, but that’s not looking likely.

First of all Below was always billed as a limited series, intended to come to an end with its original run of episodes.

“This is a limited series, and this is what we all wanted to make, you know, something that felt like an event and something that felt, you know, complete and satisfying,” creator Jesse McKeown told Radio Times.

Similarly, lead actor Josh Hartnett told Men’s Health: “The story works very well on its own. I don’t think there are any plans. I know [creator Jesse McKeown] has moved on to something else. All the actors have moved on to other things. I’ve moved on to other things.”

However, there is a glimmer of hope for anyone hoping for more stories in the Below universe.

“I do love the characters and I love this world, so never say never,” he continued, adding: “But this is a limited series, and that’s the ending.”

Meanwhile, the Verity actor agreed: “If [Below] becomes a massive hit, then there’s always room to imagine a future, and I would, without a doubt, love to go play Calvin again.

“For me, the door’s not closed, but it’s a limited series.”

All six episodes of Below are now streaming on Netflix.
