New Zealand-based Tower Insurance has announced the appointment of Daniel Walker as its chief claims officer.

In his new role, Walker will lead Tower’s claims division, focusing on delivering the right outcomes for clients, while driving digital transformation and continuing to improve service, efficiency and performance.

The executive has extensive insurance experience and initially joined Tower in December 2025 as head of claims operations and transformation.

Prior to that, he spent 14 years at Partners Life, where he rose to the position of Chief Operating Officer. His career also includes roles at Us Advice, Kings Transport and FreemanX.

Walker noted that he joins the Tal executive at a critical time in the company’s growth trajectory and is excited about the future.

“As we continue to grow our customer base, we are committed to providing the best experience possible,” he said.

Adding: “Through digital innovation, artificial intelligence and a customer-first culture, we are streamlining the claims process, improving consistency and eliminating inefficiencies.

Tower chief executive Paul Johnston also acknowledged former chief claims officer Steve Wilson resigned earlier this year to return to Australia.

commented: “Steve has overseen significant digital investments, improving the customer journey and laying a solid foundation for our next steps in claims transformation.”
