VIPR Solutions, a specialist insurance technology company providing software and data solutions for the Delegated Authority market, has appointed Tom Boucher as its new Non-Executive Chair following Bridgepoint Growth’s investment in the business.

Boucher will work with VIPR Co-Founder and CEO Paul Templar and the company’s management team as VIPR continues to expand its international presence, enhance its artificial intelligence capabilities and improve the speed and simplicity of adopting its platform.

Boucher brings more than three decades of experience across the software, technology, data and insurance sectors. He has held senior leadership positions including CFO and Chair, and has been involved in four successful private equity exits involving a number of sponsors.

His experience in the insurance technology sector includes Sequel Business Solutions, a software provider serving the complex commercial and specialty insurance market. Sequel is now part of Verisk and was previously backed by Hg, where Boucher later became an Operating Partner.

Alongside his previous executive and investment experience, Boucher is a co-founder of Foreworth, a B2B software platform focused on developer productivity analytics. He also serves on the board of Goal Systems, a private equity-backed provider of transportation software operating internationally.

Boucher commented: “The global Delegated Authority insurance market is growing rapidly, yet many of the MGA’s, brokers, carriers, and reinsurers are under-served by high quality software and data solutions providers. VIPR is a market leading software partner, with solutions that span compliance and onboarding, data ingestion and processing, work-flow management to data analytics and is poised to accelerate its growth as it delivers operational efficiency and improved insight to its clients.

“I’ve spent much of my career in specialty insurance software, and I’m excited to work with Paul, the management team and Bridgepoint to build on what VIPR has achieved.”

Boucher’s appointment follows Bridgepoint Growth’s investment in the company and comes as the business focuses on expanding into additional markets while continuing to develop its technology offering. The company noted its its priorities include strengthening its platform capabilities and making it easier for clients to access and use information derived from their insurance data.

Templar added: “Tom understands both the complexity of specialty insurance and what it takes to grow a software business. His experience will be valuable as we bring VIPR to more markets, deepen our capabilities and make it easier for clients to get the information they need from their insurance data. We’re delighted to welcome him as Chair.”
