Nuveen-backed TIAA, a provider of retirement plans, insurance, and investment services, has appointed Amy Kessler as President of Seven30 Re, its Bermuda entity and Head of Global Reinsurance, effective 21 September, 2026.
In her new role, Kessler will lead TIAA’s Bermuda insurance and reinsurance entities and manage all aspects of its reinsurance business.
Her remit also includes driving the reinsurance portfolio’s profitability and financial performance, and serving as a Director of TIAA’s Bermuda companies.
Kessler has nearly 37 years of industry experience, and most recently served as a Senior Strategic Advisor for Ernst & Young Global Consulting Services.
Before this, she served as the founding Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Prismic Life Reinsurance, leading the firm through its successful post-launch period.
In the past, Kessler founded the International Reinsurance business at Prudential Financial as the Senior Vice President, Head of International Reinsurance and led the firm for over a decade.
She started her career as an Associate at Lazard in 1989, moving to serving as Principal at Bear Stearns & Company in 1995, and as the Global Head of Pension ALM for Swiss Re in 2007.
