Thornthwaite appointed Goosehead’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Goosehead Insurance, an independent personal insurance agency, has announced the appointment of Martin Thornthwaite as general counsel and corporate secretary, replacing John O’Connor, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

In his new role, Thornthwaite will be responsible for Goosehead’s legal, compliance and human resources functions. In addition, he will manage the company’s corporate governance, real estate portfolio and risk management programs.

Most recently, the executive served as senior vice president and deputy general counsel at RealPage, Inc., where he oversaw complex business and consumer litigation, regulatory and government investigations, and employment-related legal issues.

Prior to joining RealPage, Thornthwaite was a member of Clark Hill PLC and a partner at Strasburger & Price LLP.

“Martin brings deep legal expertise and extensive experience managing complex litigation and regulatory matters. We look forward to his leadership as we continue to grow our business,” said Goosehead President and CEO Mark Miller.

Commenting on his appointment, Thornthwaite said: “I am extremely pleased to be working with Goosehead and look forward to playing a meaningful role in supporting the company’s mission and continued success.”
