Prior to joining Aon, he was a partner and head of KPMG’s insurance restructuring practice, where he specialized in advisory, restructuring and insolvency work in the insurance industry for more than two decades.
In the past, Gale has advised insurers, reinsurers, investors and select acquirers on transactions in key insurance markets, including the UK, Continental Europe, the US, Bermuda, Australia and Hong Kong.
During his career, he has supported more than 50 legacy transactions with liabilities totaling over $20 billion and has extensive experience in cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters.
Mike Morrison, Co-Chairman of Teneo International Finance Center, commented on the appointment: “Barry is one of the most respected advisors in the global insurance traditional markets, with an outstanding track record of advising on some of the industry’s most complex and significant transactions.
