Talbot appoints Don Chu as Head of Catastrophe Management

Talbot Underwriting, an international specialty insurance and reinsurance company owned by AIG, announced the appointment of Don Chu as Head of London Catastrophe Management.

In his new role, Chu will work closely with the entire business team to support catastrophe risk management across all Talbot groups, while also working with AIG’s group catastrophe management team.

He has nearly 15 years of catastrophe management experience and prior to joining Talbot he held a range of catastrophe risk roles at Chubb, most recently as deputy regional catastrophe risk manager.

Chu began his career at AIG, where he served as an aviation underwriting associate for three years.

Talbot Underwriting chief actuary Shalin Haria commented in a recent LinkedIn post: “Looking forward to working with Don to continue to strengthen Talbot and AIG’s disaster management capabilities.”
