Skyward expands Specialty Life Sciences unit powered by Apollo

Skyward Group has expanded Skyward Specialty’s life sciences insurance solutions with Apollo’s Lloyd’s Syndicate 1969, providing enhanced cross-border placements for life sciences companies incorporated in the United States and operating internationally.

sky group is a unified specialty insurance organization whose operating businesses include property and casualty specialty insurance company Skyward Specialty Insurance Group, Inc. and Lloyd’s specialty insurance company Apollo.

The move marks the first strategic collaboration between Skyward Specialty and Apollo since the completion of the $555 million acquisition earlier this month

Andrew Robinson, Chairman and CEO of Skyward Group, commented: “The expansion of our life sciences offerings reflects the strength of our combined organizations and our ability to jointly unlock new opportunities. We quickly recognized the complementary capabilities between our two organizations and viewed this expansion as a natural first step in our collaboration.”

He continued: “Apollo’s Lloyd’s platform and global licensing provide an efficient way to support specialty risks globally, and combined with Skyward Specialty’s underwriting expertise, we can expand a high-quality portfolio while maintaining the discipline and technology focus to drive our sustainable, durable competitive advantage.”
