Liberty Mutual Insurance President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Sweeney announced the establishment of a new leadership structure within the company’s Global Risk Solutions (GRS) and Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI) businesses to more closely align their strategies, effective immediately.
The new structure is designed to better serve customers and partners while enabling Liberty Mutual to achieve its ambition to become the world’s leading insurance and capital solutions partner by 2030.
Liberty Mutual noted that under the new leadership structure, GRS and LMI will remain separate business units.
As part of the changes, Vlad Barbalat has been named president of global risk and capital solutions. He will also continue as Liberty Mutual’s chief investment officer, reporting to Sweeney.
In this role, Barbalat will provide strategic oversight and be responsible for delivering Liberty Mutual’s 2030 goals across GRS and LMI.
Matthew Moore will continue as President of GRS, reporting to Barbalat, and will continue to be responsible for GRS’s performance and operations.
Adam Winn and Patrizio Urciuoli have been appointed Co-Presidents of LMI. They will continue to report to Barbalat and will be responsible for LMI’s performance and operations.
