Sixfold launches Distribution Intelligence to help insurers target top brokers

Sixfold, a provider of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for the insurance industry, has launched Distribution Intelligence, designed to give insurers the data and recommendations they need to proactively manage their distribution.

Distribution Intelligence uses data already held by Sixfold, including submissions, the risk signals behind them, and how they translate into decisions and outcomes. This is traced back to brokers, where Sixfold evaluates submission volume, quality, appetite fit, hit ratio and overall portfolio impact.

Once a baseline is established, underwriting leaders can set growth targets, such as expanding a specific class or geography, or improving hit ratio or submission quality. Sixfold’s agentic system then recommends which broker relationships to prioritise, which to realign and where untapped opportunities may exist.

Distribution Intelligence feeds directly into Sixfold’s AI Underwriter, shaping the recommendations an underwriter sees on each submission. If a broker has strong production in a class that a carrier is seeking to grow, Sixfold recommends prioritising its next submission ahead of others competing for the underwriter’s time. If a case fits a growth target but exceeds the underwriter’s authority, Sixfold recommends referring it, attaching the relevant context so the reviewing manager has full visibility.

Tony Rosa, Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Sixfold, said, “Every underwriter has a mental list of their best brokers and their worst. What they lack is the data to quantify it, and the visibility into the middle-of-the-pack brokers where real growth opportunity lies. Distribution Intelligence turns that instinct into something the whole organisation can act on, from the leader setting the strategy to the underwriter making the next call.”

Jonathan Crystal, Managing Partner at Crystal Venture Partners and former Executive Vice President & Managing Director at Alliant Insurance Services, added, “When a carrier can see clearly which brokers are the right fit, everyone spends less time on business that is never going to work. That’s good for both sides of the table.”

Distribution Intelligence is the first capability in Sixfold’s Portfolio Intelligence Suite, turning the signals hidden in a carrier’s broker, submission, policy and claims data into a broader view of its book. Sixfold said connecting more data enables underwriters to write each risk with the full picture in view, and leadership is increasingly able to steer the portfolio toward profitable growth.
