Saudi Re, the reinsurer in the Middle East and North Africa region, has announced the appointment of Ruchi Jain as Chief Officer of its IIO-GIFT India City branch.
In January 2026, Saudi Reinsurance received approval from the Saudi and Indian authorities to open a branch in GIFT City, India.
Saudi Re has been active in the Indian market for more than a decade, establishing a local presence under new regulations that favor domestic companies and international reinsurers with local branches.
Ruchi joined Saudi Re in May after more than a decade with Swiss Re, most recently as Vice President and Senior Client Underwriter. During her time with the global reinsurer, she held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, the executive served as Assistant Vice President at Howden Insurance Brokers India Pvt. Ltd.
Her extensive background also includes working as a Reinsurance Broker for PINC Insurance, General Insurance Brokerage and an Accredited Broker with Lloyd’s of London in Mumbai.
“With her extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, Ms. Ruchi will play a key role in strengthening our presence in the Indian market and providing innovative reinsurance solutions to our customers and partners,” a Saudi Re spokesperson commented.
Adding: “Her appointment marks an important step in supporting the establishment of our new branch in India and expanding Saudi Re’s footprint in the Asian market.”
