QBE Insurance, a global insurance company providing commercial and personal insurance products and services, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Groves as Chief Executive Officer, Australia Pacific, subject to regulatory approvals.
Groves has more than 30 years of experience across business leadership, underwriting, broking, risk and regulation, including 13 years with the company.
Groves currently serves as CEO and Managing Director of QBE Pacific. In that role, he has developed extensive knowledge of its business, customers and partners, as well as the opportunities facing its Australia Pacific operations.
Commenting on the appointment, QBE Group Chief Executive Officer Andrew Horton said: “As an internal appointment, Jonathan brings deep knowledge of QBE, our Australia Pacific business and the customers and partners we serve. He is well placed to build on the strong foundations already in place and maintain our focus on disciplined execution, sustainable growth and creating long-term value.”
QBE said the appointment remains subject to the relevant regulatory approvals.
