Life reinsurer Pacific Life Re has announced the appointment of Febby Mulewa as Head of Underwriting and Claims, European Protection, where she will oversee initiatives designed to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence across the entire protection business line.
Mulewa will work closely with Pacific Life Re’s global underwriting and claims teams to coordinate and improve regional performance.
She joins the reinsurer with over twenty years’ experience in direct insurance and reinsurance in the UK and Africa.
Throughout her career, Mulewa has led underwriting and claims strategies to optimize portfolio performance and enhance risk management. She also advocates for increasing the accessibility of life insurance while maintaining reasonable risk options.
Most recently, she served as Head of Underwriting and Claims Portfolio at Swiss Re. During her time with the company she also served as Head of L&H Underwriting for UKI and Head of L&H Underwriting for Swiss Re Africa.
