India-focused reinsurance platform Niyam Group has appointed Ritesh Shah as director of engineering and construction.
The company explained that Shah brings the depth of writing complex, large-scale risks that India’s infrastructure ambitions currently require.
Most recently, he spent nearly 14 years at industry giant Swiss Re, where he held senior roles including vice president, assistant vice president and assistant.
Prior to this, Shah worked as a risk consultant with Swiss Re and later moved to Corso India Private Limited in the same role.
“He is not stepping into a done deal. He is shaping the E&C portfolio from the ground up with conviction and caution. Welcome Ritesh Shah. The road ahead will be a meaningful one,” the reinsurer said.
Last month, Thierry Porté, managing director and vice chairman of JC Flowers & Co., and Jonathan Cox, managing director of JC Flowers & Co., joined Niyam’s board of directors.
